Market Motive – a new organisation to teach internet marketing

Just received an email from John Marshall (founder of ClickTracks) who has now set up a training consultancy on a members-only site.  He is joined by web analytics supremo – Avinash Kaushik and Michael Stebbins.

The site isn’t officially launched until next week however, I’ve got a press release from John….

“The company has recruited the top minds to teach Internet marketing, SEO, web analytics, and online publicity. Stuntdubl’s Todd Malicoat, SEO-PR’s Greg Jarboe and Jamie O’Donnell join Avinash Kaushik (former Director of Web Research & Analytics at Intuit Inc,) and John Marshall (founder of ClickTracks) to deliver a curriculum that efficiently teaches the concepts and best practices of Internet marketing.

Access to the membership site will cost $299 month and provides streaming media tutorials, live and recorded conference calls with faculty and allows subscribers to ask for advice and count on authoritative answers.

“The need for education in Internet marketing far outweighs the need for new technology,” said CEO Michael Stebbins, “Take web analytics for example. It’s ubiquitous, yet only 15% of the users really apply it. After a few hours of training, our subscribers will gain a competitive advantage and be able to apply practical concepts immediately.”

Learning is one part, doing is another. The company will provide consulting and marketing services for mid to large sized businesses that will include web analytics, paid search management, search engine optimization and email marketing management.”

I can understand that people are wondering why should they pay for another subscription site and what makes this different to Web Analytics Association or eConsultancy (a UK based consultancy).  Now at the moment the only thing I can say (and hopefully I’ll have more to report soon) that John Marshall and Avinash Kaushik are very much in the top league of internet strategies / analytics and when they say something people tend to listen…..
