Carol Bartz replaces Jerry Yang at Yahoo

Whilst browsing the internet, as you do at 6.30 in the morning after several cups of coffee.  Came across and article (see link below) about the new CEO at Yahoo.  Yep that is right.  Jerry Yang (and his lieutenants) are out and there is a new lady running the business.

Carol Bartz who comes with 14 years senior management experience at Autodesk is now in charge.  New blood, fresh faces, however, as the Telegraph clearly states has “no direct experience of running an internet business” – but she has worked with Cisco and Intel.

So how is this going to affect the Microsoft / Yahoo “merger”?  Will there even be a merger now? and if it does happen could this be one of the shortest CEO tenures in history?
